Report of the IP seminar at Gifu University March 2019

2019.3.22NEWS

Patent attorney Takenori Hiroe talked about the protection of trade secrets, looking at a case in which two issues were contested: whether the use of corporate information by a retired employee constituted a violation of the Unfair Competition Prevention Act, and whether this use was a breach of the duty not to compete stipulated in the written pledge the employee handed in at the time of his retirement.

Since Takenori Hiroe will retire from his position as adjunct professor at Gifu University in March, 2019, this is the last lecture of his thirteen-year long tenure. We would like to thank everyone who has participated in the seminars over the years.

The IP seminars at Gifu University will continue to be held by our patent attorneys Motoaki Hattori and Masanori Hiroe.
